
Simon Klinga
CEO & Leader • LASAR
Simon Klinga is a young Czech scientist and student at Gymnázium Brno-Bystrc, specializing in space exploration and space technologies.
He is the leader of the LASAR (Laser Satellite Recovery) team, which developed an innovative method for remotely restarting malfunctioning satellites using lasers. This project has gained international recognition, including an award in the Conrad Challenge competition organized by NASA in Houston, where the team succeeded among more than two thousand teams. At the end of 2024, his team launched the first Czech student satellite, LASARsat, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
In addition to leading the LASAR team, Simon Klinga is involved in science popularization, building small rockets, and programming experiments for the International Space Station (ISS). His goal is to contribute to the sustainability of outer space and inspire future generations to take an interest in science and technology. In 2025, he was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, which acknowledges his exceptional contribution to the development of science and technology.
